My name is Eric Smith and my grandmother was Norma Isaacs.
From my earliest years our relationship was very close. Her paintings were an ever-present feature of our bond and profoundly shaped my understanding of a life informed by creativity and a devotion to art making. My earliest impressions of art were infused with her motivation for a creativity born of a need for self-expression, rather than recognition or commercial gain. Her multi-faceted approach to abstraction and her particularly unique dialog with the mediums revealed itself in both experimental and extraordinary ways over several decades.
My intention for creating this website is to preserve her legacy as a 20th century woman artist whose story and artwork feels worthy of preservation and recognition.
I would like to thank everyone who supported this project over the years. I could not have done it without everyone's help and participation.
